How to Apply?

Selection for OCLD is conducted at all Oberoi Hotels and Resorts and Trident hotels nationwide, simultaneously with selection for OCER. Recruitment Days Days are organised in October and November. In each location:

  • One day will be set-aside for final year students of nearby IHMs and hotel schools.

  • Another day will be reserved for those about to graduate from colleges.
  • A third day will be available for candidates who have heard about our company through this website, through advertisements in the media, or through other sources.

Recruitment Days are on an Open Access basis. There is no need for you to send an application in advance. You must arrive on time or you may not be admitted.

If you are a student at an IHM or college, your Principal will be able to tell you which day you should attend.

If you are a private candidate, please contact us for an appointment at one of our special Open Access Days.

A typical Recruitment Day will start with a Presentation about the hotel industry and careers with The Oberoi Group. You will be able to ask questions. Various techniques will be used to identify candidates who seem to meet our specifications, such as self introductions and personal interviews.

After a short screening interview, candidates will qualify for further selection rounds for OCLD:

For the first of these rounds, the Quarter Finals, you will be invited to attend at the participating hotel nearest to you. A panel of senior executives will also interview you. At the end of the day, you will either be given a date, time and venue for the next round of interviews, or asked if you wish to be included in the OCER system.

The Semi-Finals will be conducted by faculty specialists from OCLD. Within a period of about two weeks, you will be contacted by OCLD. You will either be given a date, time and venue for the final round of interviews, or asked if you wish to register your details with OCER.

In January, the Finals will be held in Delhi. Three panels of senior executives will meet candidates for each of the three OCLD programmes. Kitchen Management finalists will also have a trade test in front of a panel of executive chefs. Successful candidates will be given letters offering a place at OCLD. Those who are not selected, will be invited to register with the OCER system.

Assuming that you are going to follow the OCLD track the entire process will look like this:
