About Commonwealth Games

The nineteenth edition of the Commonwealth games, scheduled to be held in Delhi from 03 to 14 October, 2010, is a step forward in showcasing India as a preferred destination for travelers from across the globe. The games bring together teams from seventy two nations participating in seventeen sporting disciplines at venues across Delhi. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. This is the first time the Commonwealth Games are being held in India and the second time the event is being held in Asia (after 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

The 17 sporting events to feature in the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi will be held at six venue clusters and five stand alone venues in Delhi.
