A Royal Welcome

Grand Royal Procession
A majestic welcome in true Royal Rajasthani style. As the guests disembark at the entrance to the hotel, they are welcomed by “Kachi Ghori”, a traditional Rajasthani dance. Walking towards the entrance to the lobby, beautifully adorned camels, elephants and horses stand at attention, regaling the guests as they used to for the Indian kings of yore. Ladies, dressed in traditional Rajasthani outfits shower rose petals while musicians at the entrance play lilting tunes from Rajasthani classical instruments. This majestic scene is completed with garlands, Aarti and tika welcome.

Puja Ceremony
Nestling on a small island amidst verdant greenery and redolent with the fragrance of exotic water lilies, is an ancient 280 year old Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Guests can also participate in the Puja ceremony held twice in a day by the pundit (priest) at the temple.

Renewal of Vows in a Hindu ceremony
Make a trip to the city of gems, jewelry and colorful dresses to purchase traditional Bridal Saris, and special wedding suits for the groom also, according to your tastes. You can also purchase specific wedding jewelry, or wedding costume jewelry for the ceremony.

On the day of the ceremony, the Bride will receive a beauty treatment known as Romance of Rajputana. This includes an Orange flavored Pomegranate scrub, a nourishing body wrap or facial, a relaxing one hour massage followed by a Rose bath. The traditional Indian patterns can be made on the hands using Henna. Finally, get an exclusive bridal hair styling to give the perfect finishing touch.

A flower dressed horse-drawn carriage to arrive at the entrance of the Spa or cluster of bride’s room to take the bride away to the Temple. This is followed by the blessing ceremony under the auspices of the Pundit (Priest), the 280 year old Shiva Temple which is decorated festively with traditional flowers. Nestling on a small island amidst verdant greenery and redolent with the fragrance of exotic water lilies, the temple is located in the center of the resort and is connected to the rest of the hotel by a stone bridge. A romantic private dinner for two, inclusive of a glass of sparkling wine with traditional Indian music at the Shivling area or Poolside overlooking the 280-year-old Shiva Temple.

Celebrate a honeymoon, anniversary or birthday in a special way. Book a two and a half hours spa for your spouse to enjoy the Maharaja Classic treatment or the Maharani mystique Treatment and sneak out to the kitchen to prepare a memorable meal with the assistance of the chef, which will be served in a unique location on the property and includes unlimited house wine.

Culinary Experiences

Cooking Session
Hear our Indian chef unveil the mysteries behind Indian cooking. This session includes a tour of the herb and vegetable garden. A detailed explanation of the various spices used in Indian cooking and its effect on health and well being followed by a cooking class in the hotel restaurant where you get to experience the Indian cooking styles using equipments like Tawa, Tandoor, Kadai used in Indian cuisine. Take home the recipes of the dishes cooked and an apron with The Oberoi insignia.

Tandoor Bar
The conceptual idea behind the Tandoor Bar is to offer our guests an Interactive Indian Dining Experience, where they will learn cooking methods and techniques from the Tandoor Chef, and participate if you wish.

Hosted at the Tandoor Kitchen in our signature Rajmahal Indian Restaurant, guests experience a very informal culinary demonstration and are introduced to traditional Indian cooking recipes that will provide them with a home-style meal preparation.

The dishes prepared by the Chefs will be served directly from the clay oven in small dishes known as Katoris. This form of serving meals is typical to India, and is known as a Thali. A Thali will be composed of a main ingredient either vegetarian or non vegetarian, a vegetable dish, a potato dish, a lentil dahl and a yoghurt raita. Breads, rice and papadams together with chutney’s will be served as accompaniments.

This fun and informal dining experience is ideal for couples, friends and families, and will be limited to six participants.

Children & Family

Puppet show/ Magic show
A puppet show or magic show can be organized you on the hotel grounds. A number of wooden dummy dolls that are dressed up in bright and colorful attires come alive and dance to the folk songs. These puppets are attached with strings that the puppeteer uses to move them around.

Horse Cart ride
Horse Cart rides for the kids in the hotel grounds. (From Oct – Apr)

Treasure hunt
Fun filled Treasure hunt for the kids held at the hotel grounds whereby you are made to follow a trail on the map. A series of clues lead to various treasures hidden in the 32 acre property. The treasures are yours to keep if you are able to find them.

Kid’s cooking class
Become a Junior Chef for a day. Kids get fitted with a Rajvilas custom made chef’s apron and hat and learn how to make cookies, cup cakes, and decorate their own pizzettas.

Block printing
No one knows what they can do until they try! Let the block prints of Rajasthan bring out the creative you by using hand engraves and carved wood pieces dipped in vibrant colors to spread the wonders of art and paint a souvenir for yourself.
