A Royal Welcome

Lavajma - A Royal Welcome
It is the traditional Rajasthani way of welcoming a guest. A Lavajma consists of trumpet players, camels, horses, elephants, dancers and drums.

Grand Royal Procession
A majestic welcome in true Royal Rajasthani style. As the guests disembark at the entrance to the hotel, they are welcomed by “Kachi Ghori”, a traditional Rajasthani dance. Walking towards the entrance to the lobby, beautifully adorned camels, elephants and horses stand at attention, regaling the guests as they used to for the Indian kings of yore. Ladies, dressed in traditional Rajasthani outfits shower rose petals while musicians at the entrance play lilting tunes from Rajasthani classical instruments. This majestic scene is completed with garlands, aarti and tika welcome.

Dance with tradition
Guests are invited to learn both basic and advanced Rajasthani dances with selected dancers from the Mira and Mastana groups. While traveling and performing internationally, each of our teachers has developed a unique and enjoyable pedagogy for foreign dance students. This method incorporates Yoga, gestures and posses to improve suppleness and an opportunity to experience the cycles of rhythms which make Rajasthani dances so unique

The Pontoon
A custom built entertainment pontoon anchored just off The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur on Lake Pichola offers a wonderful setting with a breathtaking view of the palaces, the old city and the hotel. The set-up is ideal for a romantic dinner under the stars as well as a cocktail gathering to enjoy the magnificent sunset.

A private floating island in the middle of Lake Pichola, lit by just candles, with traditional Rajasthani set-up and live instrumental music to add on to the ambience is what we offer as a perfect setting for a romantic dinner. Being transported by a boat, delicacy’s by our chef and flash fireworks to mark the celebration would just add on to your delight.

The Spice Route
Enjoy a tour to the The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur kitchen garden with the Chef. The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur kitchen gardens include a selection of herbs, lettuces and vegetables. The Herb Garden is a personal ‘passion’ with our chefs and our horticulturalist. The produce of our kitchen garden are used in our day to day cooking at the resort. The visit to the herb garden is followed by a spice talk and a culinary demonstration by our chef on local Rajasthani Cuisine with a brief history about the cuisine.

Children

The Royal Car Museum
Visit the Royal Car Museum where the Vintage car collection is kept for display. There are around 35 classic and interestingly rare transportation vehicles; some stately and vintage like Cadillac, Chevrolet and Morais; while the others are sleek and fast.

The Maharanas of Udaipur once possessed and used the regal splendors of automobiles as their luxuries.

A very interesting option for kids and car lovers alike.

Outdoor Experiences

Visit to the Shilpgram
Situated 3 kms west of Udaipur is the Shilpgram - the Rural Arts and Crafts Complex. Spread over an undulating terrain of 70 Acres of land and surrounded by the Aravallies, the Rural Arts and Crafts Complex is conceived as a living enthnographic museum to depict the lifestyles of the folk and tribal people of the West Zone of India. An annual fair held every winter showcases the culture, cuisine and lifestyle of Rajasthan. Guests can buy different handicrafts belonging to the regions.Please note that the main shops in shilpgaram are open in October to January and rest of the year only few shops are there which are not worth.
