BOOK A STAY

Welcome to New Delhi.

The capital of India, Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BCE and has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires throughout its history. In the 1920s it was completely redesigned by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker. Nowadays, Delhi is a bustling metropolis; a vibrant centre of international arts and culture, and a thriving commercial hub.

The best hotel in Delhi; an incomparable venue for business or pleasure, The Oberoi, New Delhi, enjoys views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Humayun’s Tomb on one side and a calming view of the forested golf course on the other. Our 5 star hotel is a storied landmark and a celebrated example of Oberoi’s reputation for taking care of its guests.

The contemporary interpretation of Sir Edwin Lutyens' New Delhi in the interiors combines with a state of the art clean air technology offering the healthiest air in the city. Thoughtfully detailed throughout its public spaces, with superlative rooms, restaurants and guest facilities, this is a city hotel perfectly conceived for work or play.

Red Fort.

Red Fort (Lal Qila) is an architectural masterpiece; an ancient fort enclosed within vast red sandstone walls, from which it derives its name. The Red Fort was the main seat of the Mughal emperors for almost two centuries, as well as the ceremonial and political centre of the State. Inside the vast enclosure lie fortified gates, the imperial residences, a step well, baths and gardens.

India Gate.

India Gate is a magnificent sandstone memorial arch (138 feet/42 metres high) engraved with the names of the 90,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives in World War One. Standing tall and serene at one end of Rajpath, the memorial is a wonderful sight to behold from every aspect as you drive around the busy ring road that is India Gate Circle. Stand at India Gate looking down Rajpath and you will see the magnificent Rashtrapati Bhawan (the President’s House).

Qutab Minar.

Qutab Minar is the second highest minar (tower) in India. An impressive 240 feet (73 metres) of red sandstone and white marble, it was commissioned by the first Sultan of Delhi in 1193, who sadly never got to see it in its full glory, as it took almost 200 years to complete. The tower has 349 steps. It is no longer open for the public to climb, but is a fantastic place to visit and photograph. Note: Qutab Minar is open from 10.00am to 5.00pm, every day except Sunday.
