16th July 2009, New Delhi, India: Two Oberoi hotels have been ranked amongst the ten best in the world.
The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambhore has been ranked 2nd and The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur 8th in Travel + Leisure’s 2009 World’s Best Awards readers’ survey.
This is the 5th year in succession that an Oberoi hotel has been ranked amongst the top three hotels in the world in Travel + Leisure’s annual World’s Best Awards.
These rankings are the result of a readers’ survey conducted by the world’s leading travel magazine - Travel + Leisure, USA. Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards are amongst the most prestigious in the international travel industry, as it is the readers who define excellence in travel. The readers rate their experiences at hotels across the world on characteristics including rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.
In the same readers’ survey, four Oberoi hotels have been ranked amongst the 10 best resorts in Asia. The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambhore; The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur; The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra and The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur have been rated 1st, 3rd, 5th and 10th respectively on the list of Top Resorts in Asia.
In the survey, the readers have ranked Udaipur the World’s Best City.

About the methodology of Travel + Leisure, World’s Best Awards 2009
A questionnaire developed by the editors of Travel + Leisure, in association with Harris Interactive, an independent research firm, was made available to Travel + Leisure readers at tlworldsbest.com from January 15, 2009, to March 29, 2009. In the February and March 2009 issues of Travel + Leisure, readers were invited to participate. A select group of readers also received invitations via e-mail. Respondents were permitted to complete the survey only once. To protect the integrity of the data, after March 29, 2009, respondents were screened by Travel + Leisure and responses from any identified travel-industry professionals who completed the survey were eliminated from the final tally by Harris Interactive. Only candidates that received a required minimum number of responses were eligible for inclusion. Tlworldsbest.com was maintained, monitored, and kept secure by Travel + Leisure, while the survey website, where respondents were redirected, was maintained by Harris Interactive, which collected and tabulated the responses and kept them confidential.
