Fondly known as the Hanging Gardens due to their terraced layout on top of Malabar Hill. Designed by Ulhas Ghapokar in 1881 and built over Mumbai’s main reservoir, the gardens were named after Pherozshah Mehta, an Indian political leader and activist who was knighted by the British Government for his services to law in India. When seen from above, the walkways spell out PMG in cursive script. When the gardens are ascended at dusk, they offer beautiful sunset views across the Arabian Sea.
