A two-hour drive from Cecil takes you to Khatnol, the base camp of Shali Peak, highest in Shimla’s vicinity. This ancient trail through pine forests and rolling alpine pastures ends at a magnificent isolated pinnacle with a Kali temple on top. This 5 hour moderately challenging trail is a delight for any avid photographer or nature lover.

The Shimla Water Catchment Sanctuary, nested in the serene Himalayan landscape,offer a unique opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts. This three-hour trail traverses across the dense and pristine forest within the sanctuary, an 11 square kilometres (2,718 acres) area preserved for the last 130 years and abode to a variety of rare flora and fauna.
