Mount Rinjani National Park is home to the awe-inspiring volcanic Mount Rinjani. Standing at 3,726 metres above sea level, the volcano dominates the landscape of the small island of Lombok. Rinjani is an active volcano, with its last recorded activity being 2010. Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three Gili Islands. Located just a short boat ride from The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok, Gili Trawangan is home to three dive sites. Sunset reef has hard and soft corals, as well as turtles and reef sharks. However, Shark Point is the best destination in Lombok to spot reef sharks. Senggigi beach offers a long, wide expanse of white sand that gentle curves along the shoreline, providing panoramic views out to sea. Tanjung Aan is a huge beach located within a bay, making it very safe for swimming and pretty much wave-free. The sands and waters at Tanjung Aan are particularly clean because there are no major industries near here. There is also a beautiful backdrop of palm trees and green mountains which can be easily walked by people of all ages and capabilities. Surfing is one of the best things to do in Lombok and Selong Belanak beach is one of the best places in Lombok to try it.
